The concept of ‘Geology World” is one that combines conservation, education, exploration and entertainment. This is an initial draft of the Concept Paper with a listing of detail areas for discussion by the principles involved in its creation and for advisors who will enhance the document through discussion, additions, and research.

The park is to be created in phases that will be determined by expert opinion and funding availability. Conservation Education

Conservation education will consist of in teaching the people who come to the park about the minerals, gems, and ores that can be located throughout the park.  They are trained in how to find these assets and how to identify those that must be preserved for the future.  A museum is to be built that will house the valuable assets obtained throughout Indonesia and other parts of the world.  The museum will house several sections including a section that explains and demonstrates how products are made for everyday use (cement, tile, bricks, etc) Geology students will serve as guides to explain what the people are looking at and what the raw versus the finished product looks like.  The rare assets of the park will be labeled and included in the tours.  These protected areas will be guarded against theft and destruction.  The park will be maintained by a staff that is trained in conservation techniques.

Key to the park being established will be the preservation of special specimens currently located throughout the area.  The Indonesian government has designated these as stones to be preserved under government law.  Efforts will be made by the park officials to abide by the laws and to protect these rare Indonesian fossils, precious stones, and formations.

Hunting for Precious Stones

A drawing point of the park will be that people can hunt through parts of the park where large stone deposits will be placed. The stones will be distributed by buckets or on a conveyer belt where the people can select any entity they want to keep. The people will be taught to search for the precious stones, ores and minerals.  When found, they will have the option to: 1) keep the stone in its raw state; 2) convert it to a finished one for jewelry, desk displays, and souvenirs or 3) sell the stone at the park’s purchasing area.

Each park visitor will be given a specified number of bucket tickets.  These buckets will be part of the admission price to the park.  Additional buckets can be purchased at a to be determined price.

The park visitors will not mine the area as that would destroy the environment.  Rather, they will have the opportunity to hunt through the stones taken from areas identified as rich in precious stones.

Mining Operation

The Indonesian company Alisyah World, will undertake the mining of specific areas to extract precious stones, ores and minerals. This operation will be under the permit system issued by the Ministry of Mining and will be in compliance with all laws governing the mining of precious stones, minerals and ores. This exploration will benefit the investors who initiate the park and maintain its natural state.  This venture will be a profit making business.  The gem stones or ores will be sold in the park’s store, over the Internet, and where appropriate to museums, businesses and other geological parks who desire unique Indonesian gemstones. Alisyah World will offer stock options to the investors and the par value of a single stock will be $10.00 per share.  The number of shares offered by the Indonesian corporation will depend upon the amount of money needed to complete the facilities and to maintain the facilities.

Education Courses

In addition to the conservation education, an education program on geological formations, petrified woods and corals will be ongoing.  Courses will be developed for use by universities and teachers throughout Indonesia and the world.  The curricula will be written by a university level staff with experience in preparing distance learning products. The courses will include all fields of geology and Earth Science.

Residents of the area will be offered courses that will help them to identify the precious stones, ores and minerals and those who complete the courses with a passing grade will be offered open position on the Geology World staff.  In addition, special training programs will be offered to the residents on business procedures, serving tourists, English As A Second Language, boating safety, life guarding and water safety, restaurant service and management, hotel service and management, gem polishing and cutting, and facility maintenance.

Student Program

Special courses will be offered to students at the SD, SMP, and SMA levels with a geology camp established for normal school holidays.  The student will be housed in dormitories and will be entertained through camping experiences, geology field trips, and recreational activities including swimming, boating, fishing, dancing, and field activities.

One day and multiple day programs will be custom designed for the schools and special discounts will be given to groups of 20 or more students.

Mobil Geological Exhibition

A mobile geological van will be equipped to supply schools and interested groups with demonstrations on geological topics and enable the children to create jewelry and souvenirs. The program will be conducted by specially trained educators and geological students.

Admission and Passes

The general public will have the opportunity to enter the park for a single day, multiple day passes, or week long passes.  An annual pass will also be offered to individuals, families, schools and companies. Children under the age of 3 will be free, students half-price, adults full price and senior citizens (60 +) will be the same price as a student.  Students that are attending universities will be required to show their student ID.

Other side trips will be planned according to the interests of the visitors and as the facilities are completed.

A program on studying the volcanoes in the area is also being planned and tours of these geological structures will be included in the special side tour program.

Websites

Websites will be established to provide information about the park and its activities.  Special pages will be dedicated to school programs, courses, and information about geology.  The main website will be linked to various websites that will be constructed in tangent to the main site.  These websites will offer gemstones for sale, enroll students in distance learning courses, conduct distance learning programs, and provide information to teachers and universities on research being conducted at the park or other areas throughout Indonesia.  An area will be made available for guests to enter their comments, ask questions, and speak with the staff.  Advance sale tickets, passes and special guest accommodations can be purchased on the website through use of credit card facilities and ticket/pass issuing processes.
